Upper West Side Penthouse
A gut renovation of a penthouse duplex in a 1930’s building, the design balances the conflicting interests of restoration and modernization, resulting in a gracefully-executed architecture. Public living spaces on the first floor and private sleeping spaces on the second floor take advantage of generous terraces running the length of the apartment and offer stunning views over Central Park.

Riverdale Country School
Upper Learning Building
A new classroom building for third through fifth grade, the project also includes a theater, cafeteria, faculty offices, and several multipurpose rooms for creative collaboration. Classrooms on both floors have direct access to the outdoors and corridor skylights incorporate colorful installations as learning moments. The building provokes curiosity and encourages students to understand more about the natural environment around them.

Sangha Residence
This newly-built villa residence, created as part of a larger hospitality development, shares amenities with a luxury hotel and wellness spa on the property. The architecture and furnishings were designed hand-in-hand, and infuse the spaces with a sense of calmness, serenity, and introspection.

The Pennovation Center
This former DuPont factory was transformed into an iconic landmark to serve as a beacon for the University of Pennsylvania. The building includes wet/dry labs and meeting rooms, and fosters community through a variety of informal and collaborative spaces. A bleacher seating area inhabits the faceted north addition for impromptu presentations and gatherings. Materials are raw and were selected to reference the industrial history of the building - these provide a neutral backdrop for creative enterprise, and can be easily adapted and retrofitted for future programs.

Rothko Chapel Masterplan and
Feasibility Study
For Rothko Chapel, a masterplan was developed to synthesize the need for new facilities with a strategy for long term stewardship. Working closely with the Chapel's site selection committee and landscape architect Nelson Byrd Woltz, a new campus with event spaces and administration areas is proposed north of the existing Chapel. A feasibility study for the complete renovation of the Chapel was simultaneously undertaken with lighting designer George Sexton Associates. The work is planned to augment the entry sequence and enhance lighting and acoustics throughout the space. These projects are now under construction and anticipated to be completed in 2021.
